Here’s one of my first poems. I was inspired by the Headless Horseman from Sleepy Hollow. This was written back in 2006 when I was in first year high school. It was for our English class. I hope you guys enjoy reading it.

Midnight Rider

You can hear them running and screaming

While he is cutting and slashing

The whole town shakes with fright

As he rides all through the night

They say he rides a horse that’s black

And a heart is one thing he lacks

They say he wears a red cape

And when he sees you there is no escape

People first saw him 200 years ago

Where it all started is one thing I don’t know

Every night he starts his quest to find her

Thus the never ending quest of the midnight rider

Haven’t written anything in a while, and I know I have a lot to improve on. What should I write about next?

Here’s a new poem written by me. A bit rusty but tell me what you think about it. 🙂

A woman like no other, that’s what you are

Eyes with such beauty, it would shame the stars

A face that will put Helen of Troy’s to shame

And yet, I’ve neither seen you nor know your name

Or maybe I have, I just don’t know it yet

Looking forward to the day I won’t forget

We’ll tell our children our very own story of love

The story that was written by the One seated above

How you said that first word, that first ‘hello’

How I talked about you to everyone I know

How we knew that the both of us could be a ‘we’

And how we said our vows from me to you, and you to me

Yes, I know this will come to pass someday

But for now, let’s focus on the Life, the Truth, and the Way

For I still don’t deserve a woman like you

Not trying to be humble, just being true

One day, we’ll get to live this story together

It might not be now, but it will be forever

For God has His time, not early not late

That’s why with faith I can say –I’ll wait

Hello Everybody! I’m still thinking of what to write about for my next entry. But for now, I would like to share a poem that I wrote last November 2011. It’s my way of sharing who Jesus is in my life. I hope you guys enjoy reading it.

P.S. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my 1st year High School English teacher (which I won’t name because I’m not sure if she’ll be okay with it) for getting me started on writing poetry and encouraging me to continue it. You can also read my other poems here:

The Declaration

I was once in the wilderness, running lost

When He saved me, without me knowing the cost

He gave His son, and His blood was shed

A crown of thorns was put on his head

He was nailed, through his hands and feet, on that cross

That is why I can say “I count all things as loss”

For no one can compare with my King of kings

The Lord, the master, the creator of all things

He is my shepherd, and I am His sheep

All His plans, his promises He will keep

That is why I can run the faithful race

For He sustains me with His amazing grace

In His presence, I will always stay

For He is the Truth, the Life, and the Way

He reigns over me with His mighty hand

And on His rock, I will always stand

He is the Lord of the Earth and the heavens above

He chose to pour on me His everlasting love

The name of Jesus, I will declare and spread

For He can give life to a spirit that once was dead

I am not ashamed of His gospel that saved me

For it is only through Him that we can be free

On the cross he said, “It was finished, it was done!”

He loved us! That’s why He gave His only son.
