For most of my high school days until recently, I wanted to make a short film/video. Storylines would be written, other people would want to join in, “meetings” would be held, but for whatever reason the projects wouldn’t push through.
But finally, 3 days ago, I was able to finish my very first personal, non-academic video project. It was shot on December 28, and the post-production lasted until around 3am of the 29th.
The video is nothing spectacular. The total running time is only a mere 1 minute and 58 seconds. But the fact that I was able to shoot, edit, and post a short video on YouTube is very fulfilling for me. I’ve wanted to practice film since I was a freshman in high school, and I’ve finally taken my first step (aside from academic work for my CommArts degree).
Now, let me share with you my work. It’s entitled “Mom”, and according to my computer, I wrote the script more than year ago. Thank you to my friend Kiel Mamauag for agreeing to star in my video, to my dad Stanley Uy, and to Kuya Edmund for driving for us.
I hope you guys enjoy my work, and please share it to others. 🙂
Here it is:
This will definitely not be my last video. My next project would probably be a music video of an original composition by a friend of mine. Please watch out for that by subscribing to my YouTube account. 🙂
